Mandarin Express Intro Level A & B are beginner’s courses, helping non-Chinese speakers who have no prior experience in learning Chinese start speaking Mandarin quickly. These courses focuses on daily conversations, providing students with adequate listening trainings and speaking opportunities. Genuine communications in Mandarin are encouraged in the classroom from the beginning.

The complete Mandarin Express Intro Level is structured around twenty fundamental topics, such as self introduction, places around the town, food, job, clothes, weather and etc. Students’ conversational abilities are rapidly developed through stimulating class activities and targeted exercises that emphasise tones, words and patterns.

Building from the Intro Level, Mandarin Express Basic Level A & B help non-Chinese speakers further improve their listening and speaking skills to be able to negotiate in a Chinese speaking environment with ease.

Students train their ears with near native speaking speed and with longer texts or conversations. Sufficient speaking opportunities help students speak clearly and develop their story telling skills. Genuine discussions and communications in Mandarin are essential in the classroom.

The complete Mandarin Express Basic Level is structured around twenty important topics, such as job duties and benefits, travelling, brands, and so on. All are interesting topics and are highly relevant to our lives.

This is a consolidated beginner’s Chinese reading and writing course, best for people who have learned pinyin and some conversational Chinese, but yet to learn any reading and writing.

Starting from basic strokes and stroke orders, students will be gradually immersed in a carefully constructed world of Chinese characters.

A total of 320 Chinese characters are taught in this course. Students’ efforts are directed to using these characters to read and write meaningful sentences and interesting stories. 

The Chinese Reading and Writing series is a ground breaking and creative work designed for non-Chinese speakers to build solid Chinese reading and writing skills quickly and efficiently. Informations which are not essential for building up Chinese reading and writing skills, such as Chinese character etymology, radicals, components, are not included in the textbooks, but will be discussed briefly during online tutoring.
